PayGate Desktop contains the following roles.

Role Description

Administrators The PayGate BACS system administrator.

Create Bank Account User is able to create a new originating bank account, setting the sortcode and account number.

Create Group User is able to create a new PayGate Group and set the group administrator.

Create Importer User is able to create a new file importer.

Create User Account User is able to create a new user account, set their initial password and set their email address and other personal details.

Delete Bank Account User is able to permanently delete an existing originating bank account from the system.

Delete Importer User is able to permanently delete an existing file importer from the system.

Delete User Account User is able to permanently delete a user account from the system.

Edit Bank Account
User is able to make configuration changes to an existing originating bank account. This includes modifying the bank sortcode and account number.

Edit Importer
User is able to make configuration changes to an existing file importer.

Edit User Account
User is able to make configuration changes to other PayGate Desktop user accounts including changing passwords, locking and unlocking accounts, changing payment and approval limits and modifying user roles.
This is a highly privileged role and care should be taken when assigning this role to a user.

Group Administrator
Users in this role can be made a Group Administrator of one or more PayGate Desktop groups.

Users
All PayGate Desktop users are automatically a member of this role. This role allows a user to authenticate to PayGate Desktop but does not in itself give any particular rights within the system.

View Audit Log Users in this role can view the audit log. Audit details are viewable from across all groups and users.

View Bank Account
User is able to view the originator bank account details including the sortcode and account numbers.

View Payment History
Detailed historical payment history is visible to users in this role. Users can only view payment history information for groups that they are currently a member of.
