File Cleanup

PayGate Desktop can automatically repair many common problems with imported payment files.  This is useful for preventing file format issues that can cause validation errors or payment rejections.

Automatically convert lower case characters to uppercase when importing the file.

Ticking this box will cause PayGate Desktop to convert the incoming payment file data to uppercase.  Since all data sent to BACS must be uppercase, this can avoid validation errors from occurring.  By default this feature is turned on.

Replace all non-BACS characters

BACS only allows certain characters to be present in payment submission files.  Submissions can be compromised or even fail is they contain unapproved characters.

Replace all non-BACS characters with a whitespace.

Using this option, PayGate Desktop will automatically substitute any unapproved characters with a whitespace (ASCII 32).  This is widely seen as a safe character to use as a substitution. By default this feature is turned on.

Replace all non-BACS characters with a custom character.

Using this option, PayGate Desktop will automatically substitute any non-approved characters with a custom (user defined) character.  To use this feature type the substitution character into the textbox. The chosen character must be a BACS approved character.

See the allowed charcaters table for more details
