You can usage PayGate Desktop to securely view and download payment reports and advices from the BACS service.  The reports and advices can be downloaded in a variety of formats to suit your requirements.

The following list of reports and advices are available through PayGate Desktop

 

Downloading BACS reports

To start downloading BACS reports and advices navigate to:
Reports > Download New BACS Reports

 

Report Process

PayGate splits the report download process into three steps. 

  1. Initailly you log into the BACS service. 
  2. You then retrive a list of available reports that meet your search criteria..
  3. Finally you download (or view) a specific report from the list.

  Each step is explained in more detail below

 

1 - Log Into BACS

In PayGate downloading BACS reports and advices is done within a particular PayGate Group.  When you browse to the reports download page you will be asked to select a group in which to download reports for.  This is normally the same group that the original payments were submitted under.

In order for a user to download BACS reports in a particular group, the user must be in the ‘Collect Report’ role for that same group   If you do not have the correct rights to download reports in a particular group, contact the Group Administrator of the group.

Choose a group from the drop-down box and click the button marked ‘BACS Login’.

 

For security reasons BACS require you to authenticate to the BACS service before you can download any reports.  To authenticate to BACS you will need your smartcard from the bank and the PIN.  Follow this link for instructions on authenticating to BACS.

 

2 - Retrieve a List of Available Reports

We will now ask the BACS service to send us a list of available reports


Report Type

Select the type of report from the ‘Report Type’ drop-down box.  For all available reports choose ‘All’

Report Age

You can either use a specific date that the report was ‘Generated’ on or you can provide a range.  Available ranges and their meanings are

Accessed

You can filter the reports list by whether the report has already been access yet.  If a report have already been accessed (Downloaded or viewed) by either yourself or a colleague then setting ‘No’ will stop the report from appearing in the list of available report.

Report Format

The report can be view and downloaded in either XML or HTML.  The default settings ‘HTML’ is the usual format if you want to read the report yourself. 

Click the button marked ‘Get List’ to display a list of reports that match you search criteria.

 

3 - Download a report

You now have a list of available reports.  You can view the reports directly inside PayGate Desktop or you can download them as files onto your computer.

Log out of BACS

After you have finished viewing or downloading reports you should log out of BACS. 

Click the button marked ‘BACS Logoff’  to log out of BACS.
